Information. Information. Information. We seem to crave it these days. We just can’t get enough. I suppose that’s one reason we heard “information super highway” back in the day! Some of this information is excellent, some ok, some not useful at all, and some of it just flat out wastes our time and energy. That said – here are 10 websites (in no particular order) we think are worthwhile having bookmarked and ready to go! We’re not including sites like Google, Bing, FaceBook, Twitter, etc…rather some sites you might not be as familiar with. Let us know what you think.

  1. Lifehacker. Yes. This can be one of those rabbit holes. Lifehacker is full of fantastic information with a few trivial items thrown in for good measure. Everything from parenting tips to recipes to techie stuff and good Investment decisions. Crazy good site.
  2. Quora. Quora is an unusual search engine…the search results are comprised of answers by people like you and I. Someone asks a legal question – we can go in there and give our best answer / advice. Select categories, read articles and blog posts or jump in there and start answering questions for people. Unique site.
  3. Rotten Tomatoes. Simply put – this is THE website for everything TV and movies. No other site even comes close.
  4. Explore North Georgia – Northeast Georgia Mountains. Fantastic website with tons of information about the mountains. Blairsville even has its own nice page!
  5. Blairsville Union County Chamber of Commerce. We have one of the best Chamber of Commerce organizations in the State! So much information about business here in Union County – but also a super handy calendar of events! Great site for anyone who lives, plays, or works here in the mountains.
  6. Bored Panda. Bored? Go here. The name of the website tells the tale. Lots of interesting content including art, photos, DIY info, technology, and tons of other categories. Set a timer before you visit Bored Panda.
  7. TED. Grab your headphones and listen to a TED Talk. Some of the smartest people in the World speaking on every topic imaginable. Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, Billy Graham, Sir Richard Branson, Mike Rowe, and so many more! TED is both entertaining AND educational – some of the topics will absolutely blow your mind.
  8. Mental Floss. “the encyclopedia of everything” will surely keep you glued to your screen. Articles, lists, videos, quizzes, and more…will make you smarter by the minute! Highly recommended.
  9. BrightSide. Inspiration, Creativity, and Wonder. BrightSide will make your day just a little bit better.
  10. 101 Most Useful Sites on the Internet! Our final site is a super useful site to browse…go thru these 101 sites and find a few that sync up with your interests…we’re sure you will find some.
